Bacup
Bacup is a small town located in the Rossendale district of Lancashire, England. It has a population of approximately 13,000 people and is situated in the South Pennines, a hilly area between Lancashire and West Yorkshire. Bacup has a rich history as a centre of the textile industry, particularly cotton spinning and weaving. The town also has a strong tradition of brass band music and hosts an annual brass band contest. In recent years, Bacup has become known for its quirky and unique festivals, such as the annual Britannia Coconutters dance and the Bacup and Stacksteads World Gravy Wrestling Championships.
